The De Simone Formulation has been studied in trials published in journals including Gastroenterology and Gut from 2000 onwards.

The counts are as stated by the manufacturer, EOS2021 S.r.l., and Probiotic.co.uk has not independently verified them. No clinical trial has been conducted on CDS22-formula under that product name. These figures are not a claim that CDS22-formula treats, cures or prevents any condition.

An Italian clinician and researcher develops a specific eight-strain, high-strength probiotic blend. The research literature calls it the De Simone Formulation.

ECCO, the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation, states that until 2016 the De Simone Formulation was sold under the VSL#3® brand name.
