Professor Claudio De Simone
An Italian clinician and researcher develops a specific eight-strain, high-strength probiotic blend. The research literature calls it the De Simone Formulation.
Sold under another name
ECCO, the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation, states that until 2016 the De Simone Formulation was sold under the VSL#3® brand name.
The name and the formulation part ways
ECCO states that after 2016 the product sold as VSL#3 no longer contains the De Simone Formulation.
CDS22-formula
The manufacturer, EOS2021 S.r.l., states that CDS22-formula contains the De Simone Formulation, produced from the same original master cell bank. This is a manufacturer statement, not an independent finding.

Every box of sachets has at least six months before its best-before date when it reaches you, or we replace it. Keep the boxes in the fridge at 2°C to 8°C.
Why does it arrive chilled?
Because the bacteria are live. The manufacturer specifies refrigerated storage at 2°C to 8°C, and states the product stays stable at room temperature up to 25°C for up to seven days, which covers normal UK transit. Put it in the fridge when it arrives.
Is it a medicine?
No. CDS22-formula is sold in the UK as a food supplement. It is not a medicine, it is not licensed by the MHRA, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or health condition. No prescription is needed.
